Dr. Dheepha received an MBBS degree from the reputed Madras Medical College in 2001. She passed out with distinction in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, and Microbiology. She completed her post-graduation – M.S. Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology and Government Ophthalmic Hospital (RIO – GOH), Madras Medical College in 2004. She had her initial stint of Diabetic Retinopathy management training at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai. She also successfully completed DNB in Ophthalmology in 2004.

She joined PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore where she worked as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology till 2008. Later, she completed her long-term fellowship in Retina and Vitreous surgery from Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore in 2010. She also did observership in Uvea at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.

Thereafter she worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Vasan Eye Care Hospitals, for 4 years rendering her service to South Tamil Nadu people. She was awarded “Fellow of all India Collegium of Ophthalmology” (FAICO) in the subject Retina & Vitreous at APAO – AIOS 2013, Hyderabad.

She has performed more than 10000 Ophthalmic procedures which include Cataract Surgery, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Scleral Buckling Surgery, Intravitreal injections, Laser for retinal diseases, Cryotherapy, Pterygium Surgery, Secondary IOL Surgery, etc. to name a few. She has presented papers at state and national conferences. She actively takes part in hospital and city Ophthalmology CME programs.

In 2015, she started the Nethra Eye and Retina Speciality Hospital at Madurai, where she is the Chief Consultant Ophthalmologist and VitreoRetinal Surgeon.
